Morsches Park, located on the east side of Columbia City, Indiana State is an ideal place for recreation. Some of the popular areas of this park include mountain trailing, skating park, splash pad and the tennis court where visitors can enjoy various activities. The ideal time to visit the place is from June to September when you can escape from the scorching summer heat.
With a total area of around 117 acres, Morsches Park is well suited for visitors of all ages. They enjoy numerous varying activities from jogging to cross country skiing. 4.6 miles in length, the Blue River Trail that begins at Whitley Street, allows a person to travel around the Morsches Park. If you get tired, you can rest on the river side and enjoy the food served on the small restaurants.
Several sport activities are offered through day camps for kids such as foot ball, soccer, tennis, soft ball and base ball and many more. Through these camps, kids will learn the qualities of leadership, group activities, environment and value of sports in their life. Morsches Park is equipped with skating parks meant for kids who can learn skating here and have great fun. Swimming pools are an added attraction, where one swims in the hot summer.
The pavilion area on the park is ideal for birthday parties, social get-togethers and picnics in summer as the place has dinning space and provides pleasant atmosphere. Rented Rest rooms and party hall are provided by the park authorities on the closed pavilion. Kids will play games and enjoy a lot on the adjacent playground next to it. Spotting and watching wildlife in the park adds to the experience.
With entrance off West Van Bruen Street, Morsches Park is located towards the west side of Columbia City and Blue River to the east, so it can be easily accessed. From playing baseball, softball, soccer to nature trailing and picnicking, Morsches Park has it all for the visitors.
